PCSpecialist Messed Up With This PC

This is what I found when a PCSpecialist computer was brought to me for repair. Specialist isn't a word I would use for whoever assembled it. If you pause the video at 0:45 then you can read the specifications from a copy of the invoice. It was brought it in for repair when Windows refused to load after a sudden shut down. Apparently it's been shutting down since they bought it, but this was the shut down that broke Windows. Here's a summary in case you're a PCS fanboy who gets triggered by this sort of video... ✅ The cooler WAS inadequate - as I convincingly demonstrated. They trusted the PCS configuration option. This cooler should not have been an option. ✅ The cabling WAS badly done - because the put the PSU and motherboard in before routing some of the cables. Its impossible to get the 12VCPU around the back if you assemble in that order. ✅ The spare parts WERE missing - they did check for an accessories box, but there wasn't one. ✅ Rear fans are NOT essential if your case has a massive vent on the top. Or if the PSU is top mounted. It really does look MUCH better without the rear fan blocking the I/O shroud decoration. ✅ Everything in the video is backed up by evidence. Obviously. I’m happy for people to defend PCS and I actually rarely see machines they have built - which says a lot about their general quality and reliability. Note that any new machines that fail will obviously be handled under warranty. This was a pretty exceptional example - which PCS would be aware of as other people who bought a similar specification at the same time would almost certainly have contact their support because of the shutdowns. In this case, the owner of this PC was 13 at the time of purchase, relied upon the configuration selection option to protect against compatibility problems and didn't want to cause any fuss because the PC had always restarted OK every time it had previously shut down due to overheating. They also wanted me to explain exactly what was wrong with their PC so I made this video. Even though this particular PC has the problems I have explained, it’s not representative and I’m pretty sure it’s an isolated and rare example that slipped through their quality control. The cooler looks a lot like this one... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33055119485.html Clearly NOT an Intel stock cooler - just in case you were wondering. They now show the 'official' Intel stock coolers on their configurator - so assume they fit those now rather than the one featured here. I'm never going to get rich from this, but it is nice to get something... So if you've watched this video and it influenced or helped you then please click Like and Subscribe.
