Fake Hong Kong Sony vs. real Sony stereo microphones with Kodak Zi8
Just a quick video to compare two microphones using the Kodak Zi8 pocket video camera's external stereo mic input: a fake counterfeit Hong Kong Sony "ECM-DS70P"-lookalike microphone bought from eBay for $5.00 including shipping, and a real Made in Japan Sony ECM-DS30P stereo microphone bought from Amazon.com for $30. The real Sony ECM-DS70P would be the best external mic for this camera. It has both much better stereo separation than the fake Hong Kong Sony version of it, and much better bass response than the tinny little Sony ECM-DS30P. But for $5.00, the fake Sony mic isn't bad, if you don't mind not having much stereo separation.
