Java Development Environment for VirtualBox by The Jar Bar

See: http://thejarbar.org/views/tutorials/virtualbox/VirtualBox-Dual-Development-Environment-Tutorial-with-the-Jar-Bar-and-Yucca-Nel.xhtml Part 10 of series of tutorials showing how to install a Java Development Environment which utalizes: Windows, VirtualBox, Linux (Ubuntu), choice of Integrated Development Environment (IDE), SVN, + more. Scripts(s) should work on most linuxes. Here I switch to OpenSuse and run a super script that installs he Oracle JDK onto OpenSuse together with Maven 3, NetBeans, IDEA and a SVN repo created in Windows. The instention is to bring together two systems and harvest the benefits of each and not make them work against each other. Note that we have all our development files from the host and thus can just back up the home directory on the host. Using Windows 7 ultimate, I am able to run XP Mode & therefor IE6, IE7 IE8, IE9, Safari, Opera, Chrome, etc. Linux, makes it possible to test my CSS in Konqueror and write bash scripts. Linux also has a more extensiv shell that allows for built in SSH, ftp and sftp. I don't have Photoshop currently as I enjoy The Gimp, but if you want to share your brushes to a Gimp in Linux, just share the folder and symbolically link all the *.ABR files to The Gimp brushes in your Linux. Best of all if you don't like your Linux, or get bored with it just delete it. It won't harm your projects or repositories as they are only shared to Linux and therefore are still on the guest. Other reasons for looking into such a development environment is tools like compiz which aid in development when having to multitask in more than one screen...
