Christmas Eve 2005 in Coventry Cathedral
It is Christmas Eve afternoon and Coventry Cathedral is full of excited children and their families. Many of them arrived dressed as angels or shepherds or Joseph or Mary and even a few dressed as sheep! To the music of the orchestra and ad hoc choir conducted by Paul Leddington Wright they travel to the stable (Chapel of Unity) and then visit the shepherds and angels in the fields outside Bethlehem (the high altar). They gather around Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus in the stable. They are guided on their Journey to Bethlehem by Canon Justin Welby and Canon Adrian Daffern. Matt Williams and Keith Parr meet the shepherds. The Journey ends in a ring of light as everyone present surrounds the building with their candle in hand. Happy Christmas 2005!
