Call of the Wild: The Angler - A NEW Review - Part 1! From the creators of theHunter: Call of the Wild comes a genre-defying fishing experience! Explore a vast open world in search of the perfect fishing spot. Ride the waters on your own or with friends as you embark on the journey to become a master angler. In my last review, I was forced to give a negative review of the game as it stood at that time. Then, I found out that on October 31, 2022, The Angler had initiated as MAJOR Update to the game called "The Challenger Update". According to its write-up, the developers for the game had taken direct inspiration from the community feedback they had received and implemented a number of new features, improvements and other fixes to the game. Upon learning this, I decided that I should give the game a second chance, and give it another thorough review. The same type of thing had happened with the original theHunter: Call of the Wild, so it was definitely worth another look! In this first part of my new review, I have decided that I would first check to see if any changes have been made to the actual fishing mechanics. The best way to do this is to take part in one of the fishing tutorials, that of Largemouth Bass 101. Overall, I would have to say that the fishing mechanics have improved immensely. The fish are behaving appropriately, and are providing quite the fight once hooked, especially the Largemouth Bass! They are tough to bring in, with the ability to bolt and even snap the line if you are not careful! So far, I would have to say that this game is beginning to grow on me!
