These cars are very rare these days, having been near worthless for so long. But their prices are on the rise lately. If nothing else, driving one allows you to appreciate the differences between BMW and Mercedes. Who has come across this problem in a W140 S Class? The steering wheel locked in this car recently and the key wouldn't turn. Had it towed home. Ignition tumbler cylinder appears to be loose and wobbly. You won't see this kind of thing happening in a BMW! The ignition switch part number 1295450204 is around $100 USD at the moment, and the lock assembly complete (with ignition switch) is part 1404600904 for around $340 USD. Replacement looks to be a relatively involved process. Any W140 fans out there?
