Even a day off for our resident heroic plumber can't go as planned. Heading to Peach's castle for some cake (not a double entendre), Mario is instead greeted by Bowser and his forces who have taken Peach captive and stolen the castle's power stars. It's up to Mario to once again rescue the Princess and retrieve the power stars. He has invaded Princess Peach's castle, taken she and most of her court prisoner and stolen the castle's Power Stars. Fortunately, a conveniently timed invitation to the castle means that Mario is on hand to save the day. It just a matter of exploring the secrets of Peach's castle and retrieving the Power Stars to rescue the princess and break Bowser's hold on the kingdom.
