Kinect for Windows 2.0 - Pre-Release Demo

At 5252, I specialize in facilitating the early adoption of emerging technologies. I'm constantly searching for the next big thing that can solve current problems, increase productivity and enhance the human experience. One product that has my attention lately is Kinect for Windows from Microsoft. Kinect is a hardware device created by Microsoft that senses real-time motion and sound. Last month I was able to acquire the pre-release version of Kinect for Windows 2.0. After some in-depth research, I can say it has serious potential in the average household and in the corporate infrastructure. The low cost hardware and simple APIs allow for a new paradigm of Human/Computer interaction. A huge range of usage scenarios from Audio to 3D scanning to gesture recognition will almost certainly create a significant up-shift in software developers providing user experiences beyond the mouse and keyboard. This is a video demonstration of the research I did with the pre-release version of Kinect for Windows 2.0. I am looking forward to diving into the RTM version of the firmware and APIs to really see what this thing can do. See the full review here: http://1drv.ms/1oOqJf4 Cheers, John A.
