The hard work behind one of the most popular fishing spots in Japan

With rain season upon us, shooting new content can be challenging. For this video, I only brought my smart phone and a GoPro. No need to let lack of gear from getting in the way of telling a story. The Naka river, in Shikoku Japan, was dubbed the cleanest river in Japan, in 2006. Local residence of Kito, have worked hard to maintain their beautiful rivers. In 2000, they were the first in Japan to stop the construction of a new dam, which helped preserve a large section of this great river. However, due to dams further down the river, the fish population requires stocking. The residence take up this responsibility, and continually stock the local rivers, which have become popular for fishing, attracting people from all over the country. I work for KITO DESIGN HOLDINGS (www.kito-dh.jp), a company started by Kito born Yasushi Fujita, which aims to create a sustainable population in the small town of Kito, Tokushima, through various revitalization projects. They are kind enough to allow me to film these videos during work hours, in hopes the stories of Kito will reach a broader audience. Filmed and Edited by Tyler Walkey http://www.thejapanstory.com Music created by Alrik Fallet http://www.alrikmusic.com Kito, Tokushima location: http://goo.gl/maps/2ZqjtseQEymbaLRh9
