Tommy Prine Plays “This Year for Christmas” and Talks Songwriting & Time | CONTRARY WESTERN
Tommy Prine had just finished up with touring for the year when he stopped by Melrose Billiard Parlor to play “This Year for Christmas,” an original, season-encompassing Christmas song, and to talk with us about the pensive and past-perfecting perspective one can often get into during the holidays. At the Nashville pool hall “perfectly stuck in space and time,” Tommy reflected on the nature of time during the holiday season and the ways in which musicians relate to time, whether they’re on the road or they’re waiting for a song to reveal its meaning to them over time. With a lot coming up in the year ahead, Tommy has still been “keeping the record close to the chest”—his debut record to be released in February of 2023—but until then, Tommy’s thoughtful perspective on this time of year and his performance of “This Year for Christmas” are all we need. ★ Go Western on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/contrarywestern/ ★ Stay Contrary on our Site: https://www.contrarywestern.com/ ★ Get after the Gold by Subscribing CREDITS Director of Photography: Kip Kubin Color and Photography by Emma Delevante Mixed by Luke Wiget Edited by Sam Farahmand Directed & Produced by Contrary Western in Nashville, Tennessee
