McLaren P1 cracks 7 minute lap at the Nurburgring
The now sold-out McLaren P1 has hit its final development target -- a sub-seven minute lap time at the Nurburgring. In achieving its goal, the hypercar averaged in excess of 111mph and accelerated from 0 to 186mph in less than 17 seconds. The P1 was shod with bespoke Pirelli tyres which had already travelled 390 miles to the German circuit from McLaren's Woking HQ. Test driver Chris Goodwin simply switched to 'Race' mode for the assault, extending the rear wing, lowering the ride height and stiffening the suspension by 300 percent.
