No Bootable Device Insert Boot Disk And Press Any Key - Easy Troubleshoot & Recommended Fix
If you get a "No Bootable Device Insert Boot Disk And Press Any Key" error message, in this video I show you how to troubleshoot and fix this very common problem in laptops and desktops computers. The laptop featured here is the ACER ASPIRE E15 START - ES1-512 Series - ES1-512-C3AH. “No Bootable Device Insert Boot Disk Press Any Key” means one of the following: 1 – the main drive where the Operating system is located is damaged 2 – the connection between the drive and the motherboard is damaged or loose 3 - the boot order has been changed and the main drive is no longer the prioritised boot drive 4 – the boot loader for the main operating system has been corrupted and needs to be rebuilt The main tool you will need is a recommended Live Linux USB Installation Drive. In this video I use Linux Mint, but you can use any other linux distribution of your choice, and also consider trying both versions 32 and 64 bit if the first trial does not work. By inserting a live linux usb drive, we can bypass the main drive and test for the proper functioning of the whole laptop or desktop except for the hard disk drive and the operating system on the hard drive, usually Windows. Since this laptop was dropped, and afterwards it does not boot into Windows anymore, it is safe to assume that the hard disk drive is damaged, which is very common damage in many laptops. Also this laptop when turned on does not show signs of disk spinning, .e no sound and no vibration coming from the bottom of the laptop where the disk is usually located. The recommended fix in this case is to replace the disk with an SSD instead of a normal hard disk drive to minimise further risk of damage to the disk.
