imZERT™ - Traceability for plastic products

Stop guessing - put the information on the part! imZERT™ - Traceability for small plastic parts! We present Direct Part Marking by nanostructured 2D barcodes, to provide accurate information directly where it is needed: on the actual part! imZERT™ is safe and low-cost, applying no foreign materials or contamination. Our methods enable all the benefits and advantages that follow with reliable DPM, with traceability that reaches all the way back to the moulding process, not just the packaging step. Accurate information on the actual part enables problem solving along the entire process and value chain, supporting: - Quality surveillance and intervention - Documentation for prototyping and pilot-production - Revision ID for complete line clearance - Accuracy in Quality processes - Enhanced product functionality - Lean minimization of storage and resource use - Avoiding mix-up during assembly - Intelligent Sorting, also for contents - Industrie 4.0 also for the plastic parts - Supplier Production Control - Mould/Cavity ID, Supplier ID, Batch ID - and so much more Our 2D barcodes are applied DURING injection moulding, by replication of prepared accurate nanostructures on durable mould inserts, without any need for further processes or materials. The methods works with all moulded polymers and elastomers, within typical moulding parameters. Barcodes down to 1x1 mm² have been demonstrated. imZERT™ barcodes on plastic parts can be scanned by various means. Inline Vision and barcode scanners are compatible with all barcodes, even small barcodes on white plastic. Smartphones can also scan all barcodes under proper lighting conditions and using dedicated apps. Handscanners work with some barcodes, but must be qualified with every implementation. Microscope setups with suitable image filtering can capture any barcode on any plastic or elastomer. imZERT™ barcode information contant and symbology can comply with any standard, including with the GS-1 implementation of the Datamatrix ECC200 standard.
