The concept of modulating and covering a song in a different key is fulfilled by: 1) Choosing the key the song will be modulated to; 2) Deciding which elements of the original song to keep in order to retain its core identity; 3) Rewriting said elements so they fit into the new key; 4) Composing the rest of the song based on the resulting transposition.
