The gameplay is essentially the same as in the previous game, but it has a better presentation, with animated cutscenes and voice acting in-between levels. The story takes places a few years after Gate of Doom, when the four heroes of the Force Divine saved the world from a demon invasion. Another demon army has come up once again, one much larger and possibly mightier, and plans to summon Satan to finish the job. In response, the Knights of the Wizard Fire have come together to stop this new army before it's too late.
