New Scotland South Road Railroad Crossing, New Scotland, NY (Video 6)
After seeing the eastbound intermodal train, I hopped over to New Scotland to see if something was coming at this railroad crossing, since I hadn't been here in quite some time. After waiting for a while, this westbound mixed freight crawls it's way through with CSX GE 7215 CM44AC, with CSX GE 3181 ES44AH as the rear DPU. Since I was last here, not much has changed to these mid-1990s Conrail era signals. The only change here was the right signal received a new gate striping in 2021, but oddly enough, it’s covering the original diagonal striping on the original gate arm, which is quite unusual. But all in all, always enjoy seeing more signals from the era of Conrail still in service, and the Safetran Hybrid bell is still going strong, considering that is the only one in service on the Selkirk Subdivision.
