The $20 Thrift Store iPad - Can we make it work?

I recently found a 1st generation iPad Air at my local thrift store, and decided to buy it as it was in fairly good condition and the only noticeable problem was that it had been disabled. Join me as I hook it up to iTunes and see what I can do to get it working.
