Monster Hunter XX Demo -- Acquisition

Guess what? I'm jumping the line and instead of making good on any of the video editing I've been trying to get done, because a new demo of a subject matter I'm a little too interested in for my own good launched... ... ...in Japan. Like with the Splatoon demos, this is a weird case of setting up a Nintendo Network account in a different region actually having a functional purpose... because Monster Hunter XX (the "Double Cross" to what we in the West know as "Generations," which in Japan was simply called "Monster Hunter X," or "Cross") has an upcoming HD version for the Switch, the first time the series has had a non-handheld outing since 3 Ultimate. Meanwhile, Capcom branches outside Japan have been ignoring this game in favor of hyping up Monster Hunter World, set to launch next year for completely unrelated platforms... which naturally has a rather divisive effect on established fanbases with vested interests in sticking to the existing (and related) platforms, so the Internet has had a very interesting reaction to the news. (Personally, I'll worry about that more when release time nears, but the game itself looks very exciting from what we've seen so far.) --- So anyway, this isn't a guide to setting up access to the eShops of other regions... there are actually a plethora of those out there, written with far more care than I could hope to match... so I won't. Instead, I'm merely using this as a quick demonstration of just how easy it can be to find it, even if you don't know how to read or write in the language. Especially since this didn't actually come in handy... you see, the software itself isn't filed under モンスター ("Monster") or ハンター ("Hunter") ...or even its preferred series shortening of モンハン... it's literally called "MONSTER HUNTER XX," even in the Japanese software catalog. ...but seriously, though... the eShop needs a bit of an overhaul as it is now. I complain a lot about the usability of the 3DS and Wii U eShop interfaces (and what about that old Wii Shop Channel?!), but this is too simplified to the point of being a pain to find anything that's not otherwise suggested or featured... especially if you don't know the title's name, and that's obviously not going to help casual browsing anyway... --- Honestly, this is a super short video and all... and I even question the logic in having one so small, but... that's basically all there is to say on the subject. Fun! ... ... ...yup, that's it. This is surely not a sign of anything to come. Nope. We're good. Pack it in, people. I'll see you all sometime randomly next month. Maybe. Make it two, just to be safe.
