DIY Convert Tape To Mp3 Digital Format PLUS How To Repair SANYO Walkman

#walkman #sanyo #tape #repair #cassette2mp3 I had some unmarked tape cassettes and wanted to know what is on them and also to transfer them to digital file format. Cassettes players were very popular during the 80s and 90’s it was the common player In-home and also when traveling outside it was easy to play and record audio with it And it could be very compact. But today it is very hard to find a device that is in working condition. I found this Sanyo Walkman machine model MGP-44 but it was not working. I am not sure what is the problem with it,I fill it with some new batteries And tried to press all the buttons, I try to connect the headphones to see if it make any difference And eventually, I saw that there is a small red light turning on. I decided to look inside and opened the case. The rubber belt was dry and stuck. I removed the old rubber band and without the rubber, the machine seems to function all right. Finding the correct rubber for this 1985 Sanyo Walkman can be done in ebay But I have a good friend that owns a large collection of vintage audio parts So he gave me a few sony walkmans rubber belts in the approximately correct size. I started with the medium size belt but it was only partly functioning So I tried a belt that is a little smaller in size. And then it gave a good tension and function correctly. Since everything was already open I took some acetone and cleaned the pinch rollers and the magnetic reading head. I closed the case back together and connected some wired headphones open the small door for placing tape inside .pressed the play button and nothing happened This was because the batteries were left outside the machine. After adding the batteries everything worked fine. So to convert the tapes to digital mp3 files I found a two-sided PL 3.5 jack One side of the cable I connected to the Walkman cassette player And the other side to the computer line-in input this input sometimes marked as a mic in And for me, it is blue but it can be also pink or black color. In the computer, I opened the software called audacity And just check that in the microphone it selecting the name of my sound device. Then just need to press the Play button on the Walkman and the record button on the software. When the audio is finished playing press the stop button on the software and to save the file as Mp3 go to File then export and export to MP3 set a name to the file and select Save You can choose to add data tags to the file or skip to select OK. This Sanyo Walkman has many nice features like Dolby Digital and auto-rotate Reading head it is very compact and just a little bit thicker than the tape cassette itself And I am glad that it is works now. link to video recorder repair https://youtu.be/pd_NzT-JkWg link to capture card vhs https://youtu.be/pd_NzT-JkWg
