Mass Effect 2 Campaign: Part 18 - Garrus: Eye for an eye
Story: Garrus' loyalty mission was very enjoyable. We could meet Harkin - small character from ME 1. He's a scum and it was satisfying to see how Garrus beat the crap out of him. He deserved that. Also I don't quite like the fact, that male Shep had so few interactions with Garrus in ME 2. It was like 3 dialogue sections throughout the entire game. In the beginning of ME 2 we saw Garrus as a vigilante and thanks to this mission we had the opportunity to show him, that violence isn't always the best option. Which I liked a lot. Also I think BioWare in ME 3, pushed Garrus in that direction, because he looked more mature and paragon-ish. Gameplay: Standard stuff here. A couple of sections where I had to kill bunch of enemies. I liked platform style though. For a person who's come back to ME 2 after a couple of years of playing ME 3 multiplayer, I enjoy the map design quite a lot. I died a couple of times during YMIR section, which was pretty hard in the beginning. But once I started to use soft cover, it looked like mechs were confused. That helped a lot. Disclaimer: I modded my game a bit. I gave myself max amount of Paragon and Renegade pts, in order to roleplay Shepard as I see fit (just like in ME 3). In my opinion Paragon/Renegade system in ME 2 was simply not good, because it forced you to pick only 1 side - good or bad, which was super annoying. Also I gave myself a lot of minerals and credits, simply because I don't like scanning mini-game, and grinding.
