HOW TO PLANT A SHRUB

Recipe for Acid Loving Shrubs: Ingredients: - Pecan hulls - Homemade compost - Shredded leaves - Hapi-Gro Landscaper’s Mix: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hapi-Gro-2-cu-ft-Organic/50327715 Optional - Osmocote: https://amzn.to/33s4qaH Here are my 5 Tips for Successfully Planting a Shrub! 1. Amend the soil if necessary with compost, shredded leaves, or other additives. (Slow-release fertilizer like Osmocote). I also used pecan hulls for improved drainage and a bit of acidity. 2. Dig a large hole 2.5 x the width of the shrub, to the depth, it was growing in the pot at soil level. Rough up the sides of the hole for easier root penetration. 3. Loosen the root ball of the pre-watered plant to prevent circular root growth. 4. Add amendments halfway/backfill soil and water well. Slightly compress soil to remove air pockets. 5. Mulch and water well. Keep watered till well established! VOILÀ!
