War Thunder: The GAZ-AAA(DShK) is Meh
The GAZ-AAA(DShK) is a soviet Anti-Air, it is equipped with a 12.7mm machine gun and has a crew of 3 - 2 in the driving compartment and 1 manning the guns. The GAZ-AAA(DShK) 12.7 has 50 rounds per belt. It has access to 5 types of round (AP-I) with 27mm of penetration at 100m, (T) with 8mm of penetration at 100m, (IAI) with 3mm of penetration at 100m, (API-T) with 27mm of penetration at 100m and (AP-I(c)) with 32mm of penetration at 100m, These rounds make up the 4 different types of belt that can be used by the GAZ-AAA(DShK): • Default: which is (AP-I), (T), (IAI) • API: which is (AP-I(c)), (API-T), (AP-I(c)), (API-T) • AP: which is (AP-I(c)), (AP-I(c)), (API-T) • API-T: which is (API-T), (API-T), (AP-I(c)) The GAZ-AAA(DShK) has a reload rate of 10.4 seconds - this leaves short periods where you cannot fire at the enemy so keeping an eye on your ammo is key as you do not want to run out when being strafed by an enemy plane. The GAZ-AAA(DShK) has two big problems as an anti-air, it can only look 45° vertically meaning if attacked by an enemy from above you will not be able to defend yourself. It also has a limited turret rotation of ±110° this means it cannot look behind itself and you must turn the whole vehicle to shoot enemies that move behind you. This is where the GAZ-AAA(DShK) good mobility comes into play as it has a top speed of 65km/h (RB) so you can drive away when being strafed - this can increase the chances of survival. Key: (AP-I) = Armour-Piercing Incendiary (T) = Tracer (IAI) = Immediate-Action Incendiary (API-T) = Armour-Piercing Incendiary Tracer (AP-I(c)) = Armour-Piercing Incendiary (Cermet core) (RB) = Realistic Battles Music used: War Thunder OST - Naval Forces Songs: 2, 4
