Tristar 35040 Sturmpanzer IV Review
Review of the Tristar 35040 Sturmpanzer IV Early Version (mid production) 1:35 scale model kit with interior. Extremely detailed kit with lots of extras including a very detailed interior. Only things missing on the interior are the drivers position, transmission and engine, all of which can be added with after market sets. Considering the price (13€ @ DerSockelshop with a special rebate, average price @ Amazon and e-bay is 19€) this kit is a lot of bang for the buck. Rubber tires separate from the road wheels, optional suspension parts, clickable single link "magic track" style tracks, lots of photo etch details and what appears to be "to scale" armor thickness on all parts of the vehicle add to the realistic and well detailed kit. If the plastic were grey I would swear this kit was made by Dragon. Negative aspects are the instructions and a somewhat over-engineered construction. This kit is most definitely not for beginners, but would be a nice challenge for even experienced modellers.
