Comparing audio quality of Olympus OM D EM5 and the Olympus EP L3

My subscribers will doubtless remember the piano song I recorded with the Olympus EP-L3 and 14-42mm kit lens. It didn't exactly make a good case for itself, with a "diggedy-diggedy" noise rattling away in the background. Well here I test the Olympus OM-D EM5 with its kit lens, the 12-50mm against the EP-L3. Then I swap lenses to see if the lens or the camera itself is the culprit. Well, the noise is present in all cases, although it is significantly reduced when using the 12-50, on both cameras. This would suggest that choice of lens is the main factor in reducing this annoyance. But actually, Olympus should have ruled it out altogether. These were both expensive cameras when bought new, and they should have thought more carefully about how to incorporate acceptable audio quality into the design of their cameras and lenses.
