Nikon D5200 Buttons and settings - youtube

This is an overview of the external buttons on the Nikon D5200 DSLR camera. DOWNLOAD OUR FREE GUIDE HERE http://www.d5200.org The buttons are: Accessory Hotshoe Flash Mode Button: Whilst the built in flash will pop up automatically if you press the shutter release button halfway, the flash mode button will pop up the flash when you want it. By pressing the button and turning the command dial at the back, you can control flash compensation. Fn Button: The following settings to be adjusted by pressing the Fn button and rotating the command dial, which is just behind the dial mode on top of the camera: Image Quality and Size, ISO Setting, White Balance, Active D-lighting. This is a good short cut to the settings you would most regularly want to change. Infrared Receiver: This is one of two receivers designed to operate the camera remotely. Shutter Release Button: The D5200 has a two stage button. The camera focuses when the button is pressed halfway down and can also pop up the built in flash. The picture is taken when the button is pressed fully down. Mode Dial: The Mode Dial controls most of the camera's functionality. Red-Eye Reduction Lamp: This has various functions: It reduces Red-Eye by flashing immediately before the photo is taken. It is the self-timer indicator and also operates as an A-F assist illuminator, that switches on to help the lens autofocus in poor light. Try not to put your finger over it. Diopter Adjustment Control: The i Button: When you have Live-view screen working, this button activates the rear screen, allowing you to navigate around it using the multi-selector button. Mode Dial: The Mode Dial controls most of the camera's functionality. Live View Lever This lever allows you to switch between focussing and composing through the viewfinder and the viewing monitor. Focus and Exposure Lock Button: Keep the shutter release button pressed halfway and then press this button to lock the focus and exposure settings. Command Dial: The command dial can be used with other controls to adjust a variety of settings when shooting information is displayed in the monitor. Playback Button: This button is used to show you your images or video on the view screen, starting with your latest. Use the multi-selector button to navigate and the playback zoom in and out buttons for a closer inspection of your work. Memory Card Slot Cover Multi-Selector Options and OK Button: This button can be used to navigate around the menus. Photo Delete Button Playback Zoom in Button Thumbnails, Playback Zoom out and Help Button Viewing Screen Menu Button: This button shows you the full list of menu options. Viewfinder Exposure/Flash Compensation Button/ Aperture Adjustment: Exposure Compensation is used to change the exposure from the level suggested by the camera. Information Button: To save battery, the viewing monitor turns off after a few seconds - though this can be changed. The Information Button allows you to switch the monitor on and off. It also lets you see the common parameters at the top of the screen ( ISO, shutter speed etc). Press again and it gives you the video crop on the screen, press again and it gives you a grid overlay. Release Mode/Self Timer and Remote Control Button: This is a multifunction button, that controls Release Mode ( single frame, continuous, self-timer, delayed remote, quiet shutter and quick-response remote). Video Record Button: When you press this button to record movies, a recording indicator and available time are visible on the view monitor. Live View lever:This lever allows you to switch between focussing and composing through the viewfinder and the viewing monitor. It will work for either stills or video. Focus and Exposure Lock Button: Keep the shutter release button pressed halfway and then press this button to lock the Focus and exposure settings. Built-in Stereo Mic: This internal Microphone allows you to record sound while shooting video. We have tried it out for our videos and it is actually pretty good.
