Marantz PM6005 Amplifier & Monitor Audio RX2 Speakers (INXS - New Sensation)
Have to say, This set up has me scrambling for all my old music to hear it played through these RX2`s!. come from a wharfedale system with Wharfedale zaldek 1000s which are floorstanders, and were recognised as party speakers at the time. I was a little worried when buying these much smaller RX2`s that they wouldnt match up to the powerful sound those Wharfedales pumped out, especially at the bass end of things. ...i was mistaken lol. Although they dont go quite as low as the zaldeks, its a much more refined punchier bass response. but dont get me wrong these badboys still go very low! maybe sounding lower than the figures suggest in ther current position i have them. As for the mids/high frequencys these are no slouch either, awesome detail! and personally in my opinion produce a wide open soundstage too, its like your right there watching live! especially listening to rock type music. They do not disappoint! :) im intrigued as to what the higher end systems sound like as this has impressed me beyond my expectations! This is just through my computer via my tv at the moment using basic scart to rca plugs as my tv has no optical out :( Can anyone tell me if the sound is running through the onboard DAC in the amp wired this way, or does it need to be connected via the optical or coaxial inputs to gain use of the DAC. I couldnt find much info online about it. Thanks in advance :)
