Dragon Quest IX Playthrough #043, Tywll Cave (1/2): A Damp Journey
This is video #043 in my playthrough of Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies. This video does not contain commentary. When they reach this area, they are on a beach outside the actual cave complex. This area's enemy roster includes Chimaeras, a familiar staple in the DQ series. In the southeast part of the beach, there is a red chest containing a Seed of Magic (time index 2:02). Sorry that the party got jumped by a Chimaera before the text appeared on the screen. At the southwest end of the beach, near the cave entrance, there is a blue chest (time index 4:07). My party was fortunate to get a Sage's Elixir, which restores about 90 MP. The cave entrance leads inside to L1 (time index 4:58). There are stepping stones leading from island to island in this damp cave. From the eastern ledge, the party can cross west and grab a pair of Iron Kneecaps from a red chest (time index 5:10). To the north, the party can go through the center opening to a cave chamber (time index 6:12). Within, a red chest contains a pair of Ultramarine Mittens (time index 6:19). These offer a nice boost to Deftness. Back in the main cave, the party can go west and head upstairs to another cave opening (time index 7:22). Within, a red chest contains Mini Medal #010 (time index 7:26). After returning the main cave, the party heades south and takes the southwest exit to the beach area (time index 11:08). This takes them out to the cliff, where they climb the hill. Then, they go through the upper eastern cave opening (time index 11:17). They will be in the southeast section of the L2 cave. On the eastern ledge, a red chest contains a Seed of Agility (time index 11:29). Back out on the cliff, the party goes through the upper western opening, which gives access to the rest of the L2 cave (time index 13:18). First, they go west and take the high ledge to a red chest containing Mini Medal #011 (time index 15:43). Returning to the lower level, they start crossing the stepping stones. Angelo soon reaches Priest Level 21 and earns 4 skill points (time index 21:31). At the eastern end of the northern ledge, a red chest contains 1,500 Gold (time index 23:13). That's a tidy sum! Near the eastern side of the room, there is a blue chest on a small island (time index 26:46). The opening at the eastern end of the room leads to the next area, a lagoon. Thanks for watching!
