Hey fiddle diddle...Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
Good excuse to resin up the bow and scratch out a few jigs for the Irish in us. I got this fiddle from Charlie Black, an Ojibway friend in Franz, Ontario. That was back in 1971, when I used to have dances in the school on Friday nights. Many years later I met Ernie Black in Cambridge Ontario, and he said that the fiddle belonged to his mother. It was in about 30 pieces in an old bag when I got it. My brother-in-law Jerry glued it together for my 60th birthday. That was fourteen years ago. Still sounds awesome! I just need to practice. I think the fiddle is over 100 years old.
