I spent most of my childhood taking things apart and trying to reassemble them. I could never get that last part right. My life is heavily focused on finding voids and filling them by seeking and mastering whatever skills are needed to do it. My approach has always been calculated and mathematical, in the sense that there are series of repeatable steps and expected outcomes. I first walked into Danger!Awesome in June 2013 out of a growing curiosity of the flux of creativity I would see coming in and out of the doors. It was there that I learned about the interface of art and technology: the space where the lines blur completely. I began to explore a technique that was taught there that involves applying layers of paint to bare wood and using a laser to etch away the topmost coats to reveal the colors that are underneath. The process redefined how I see colors and their dependencies with one another. It taught me that expression can emerge through a combination of addition and subtraction. My name is Sunny Singh, I'm a 27 year old computer scientist in Cambridge and a lifelong engineer.
