I was recently contacted by Twinomujuni Darius, who helps run UCARE International (an orphanage in Kampala, Uganda) to explain to me how this crisis is affecting them and how they desperately need aid more than ever. So i decided to do a concert (with guitar and drum machine) to brighten these children's day and I'm posting it to help raise funds for them. This past summer we were able to raise $2000 to help buy necessary supplies like food, reusable sanitary pads, and cleaning supplies, as well as investing for their future by purchasing a larger water tank to collect rainwater so they don't have to hike for water and pay for it they can drink from the tank for months, building a garden to help invest in sustainable food for the kids in the long term, as well as constructing the foundation for a medical clinic to help take care of the kids on site (diseases like malaria are rampant in the region and this will greatly help them). Please donate here, to add to positive peer pressure and add your public support, or donate directly and anonymously at https://www.paypal.me/diannestober1 (a paypal account set up by an American friend of Darius's that goes directly to their orphanage). They keep financial records of how donations are spent so you can see how your dollars are being used. With this Christmas fundraiser for the kids, here's what UCARE Intl are asking for donations for: "Our goal is share the fullest love of the Christ on Christmas through providing a meal and sharing story of the birth of Christ as presented in (Luke Chapter 2) Help us raise $300 to provide Christmas meal for the 120 kids and 15 sta members in our orphanage. You can help us give these children the opportunity to experience the true meaning of Christmas with your donation. Your contribution will provide for all the members in the orphanage to have an outstanding meal featuring with meat, vegetables, and fruits among others." They're also hoping to be able to spend some money getting gifts for the kids for Christmas, something every child deserves.
