Server 2008 Core on ProxMox with VirtIO drivers installed. - Now with annoying music.
quick little test run of Server 2008 Core's boot speed running under Proxmox PVE with the virtIO drivers installed. It's a bit faster than using the emulated SCSI bus and SATA drivers. SATA boot is a good 2-3 seconds slower. May not be much, but with a bigger OS, it will matter. Also I am using qcow disks, which are said to be slower, but more reliable, I wonder how raw would measure up (reportedly the fastest)
