Dragon Age: Machinima Showcase + Fan Made Cinematic Apostate Hobo Banter
"Machinima is the art of making film inside the real-time 3D virtual environment of a video game engine. By treating the in-game viewpoint as a camera, the game space becomes the set, the characters turn into actors, and the gamer becomes a director." -- Mediamatic (2006) I use DAI Cinematic Tools, created by Matti Hietanen, to create Dragon Age: Inquisition machinima. The toolset allows me to move the viewpoint camera around freely, change its field of view, and also add several visual effects -- depth of field, for instance. Equally important is a Cheat Engine script to trigger and toggle through randomized in-game party banter by pressing a hotkey. However, a significant part of the creative process usually takes place outside of the game, in Adobe After Effects.
