Putting a Slurpee in Space | Behind the Scenes with 7-Eleven #TakeItToEleven
The world's oldest and largest chain of convenience stores, 7-Eleven celebrate their anniversary every year with an epic stunt. In 2021, they decided to celebrate the power of delivery services, in a year that has shown their importance, by conducting a delivery like no other. They asked us to deliver a Slurpee to space! To 'take it to Eleven', we went a little further: we launched a series of cups into space, not only capturing some incredible imagery of the brand's custom Space Slurpee cups floating above the Earth in glorious 360° video, but also launching cargo flights carrying a range of cups for consumers to get their hands on. Launched from Saginaw, Michigan, the state that consumes more Slurpees than any other, this video documents the intense development and launch process that took these cups over 100,000 feet above the Earth's surface! ----------------------------------------------------- Sent Into Space are the Near Space experts. We use lighter-than-air gas balloons to travel to the upper stratosphere into Near Space, where you can see the curvature of the Earth (Flat Earth believers need not reply!), the black vacuum of space and the thin blue line of the Earth's atmosphere on the horizon. This is more than just a GoPro on a weather balloon. We build a bespoke launch vehicle for each flight utilising the latest in camera technology and long-range radio and satellite communications. We film HD video of the Earth from space for stunning images of the curvature of the Earth. With over 500 successful flights over the last 8 years, we're the only company to go to when you want to launch something into space.
