My Google+ page has posts based on my initial thoughts for today's event and whether I can recommend the iPad Air for you, based on whether you don't own a tablet or if you already own an iPad. Apple today announced the iPad Air (must of got idea from MacBook Air for name) with a redesigned body and the iPhone 5S's A7 Chip. Facts/Additions: - Bezels are 43% smaller - 7.5mm thin (2mm thinner than iPad 4). - Down from 1.4 pounds (635 grams) to 1.0 pounds (454 grams). - Stereo Speakers on the bottom. - Dual Microphones. - A7 Chip (same chip as iPhone 5S). - 64-bit processor and Quad-Core Graphics - M7 Coprocessor (probably to save battery life). - Same rear facing camera. - Support for MIMO (multiple in multiple out) Wi-Fi networking resulting in upto 300Mbps which is double the speed before of the iPad 4 and iPad Mini 2012. - Expanded 4G LTE coverage (more LTE bands on a single chip, so they do not need to make as many variations of the same tablet). - Updated Facetime HD camera with larger pixels. - Improved backside illumination sensor (for rear camera presumably). - 8x more powerful in processing data compared to original iPad. - 72x more powerful graphics compared to original iPad. - Available in White/Silver and Black/Space Gray. - Same prices as before (and around $50 more in Australia compared to iPad 4). - Available in high volume countries, including Australia, China and U.S. on November 1st. Thanks for liking, commenting and subscribing.
