Sub Grub: "Rouge One: A Star Wars Story" 3D Blu Ray Bass Review
So many Star Wars movies have disappointed fans to some extent since the original films, and there was definitely a gaping hole between Episodes 3 and 4. So is this movie worth owning? I have a healthy appreciation for the movies, I enjoy them a lot, but I don't own a light saber or any action figures. So I'm not emotionally attached to the franchise as some of my viewers might be. That said, this was such a great movie, especially for a home theater, and this is definitely a case where good subs make a huge difference. If your subwoofers are breathless at 25 hertz (as so many are), you're really missing out. The bass was spot on, the effects were convincing, clear dialog, funny where it was appropriate, good continuity, and even my wife liked it. I think her liking it carries the most significant praise of the day. When someone indifferent to Star Wars movies can't wait to watch it again, I think they did a pretty good job! Aaron from House of HaHa t-shirts, who saved his first time to watch Rouge One on my setup, is more of a fan than I am. He does own a light saber. He also owns action figures. He and his wife Melody have put their worldly possessions in storage and are currently living on the road full time, something many people dream of doing, and they happened to be in town when this came out on disc. Aside from Bear being a pain while we were trying to watch it, I think Aaron enjoyed it.
