George Gershwin "Summertime" Helen Jepson '36 "Porgy and Bess" Remastered

Helen Jepson, Metropolitan Opera star, singing Gershwin's "Summertime" from "Porgy and Bess" in the first recording made of it. Supervised by the composer. From a set which also featured Laurence Tibbett. "Porgy" was intended for the Met, which would have broken the color barrier there twenty years earlier than it was, but like Blitzstein's later "Regina" instead had to go the route of Broadway and founder commercially on that rocky shore for operas. Remastered and cleaned by Tormented Artist Ink (me).
