Korg Kaoss KP3 Touch Pad Stuck Repair & LED Colour Mod
Update Aug 2017: Info on some components & LED mod - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0SaSRRpV2c&feature=youtu.be Grabbed a bargain on this Korg Kaoss KP3 unit... seller said touch pad had an issue with being stuck in a particular spot. I initially reckoned it was not repairable after taking apart and looking at the touch assembly (par from replacing the touch unit) but gave a far fetched ideal a fair go and am glad I did! I was able to remove the indentions/nicks on the plastic film material with a heat gun (carefully using, @ 100c). Its plausible such damage might be repairable without even opening the unit up, since the housing/case is made of metal... Of course, if the hit was hard enough to crack the glass, that likely will require a replacement touch unit. It would still be worth a fair go at the same technique of repair however. I still need to replace the LED segment display with a blue one, but am MUCH happier having it blue now hehe. Apologies on the video work, but video is not what I specialise in :P Music/sounds produced by me
