Dead Cities Part II - M.Pedersen
“Dead Cities Part II” is from the project “Night Music for Guitar”. The guitar is radically down-tuned to simulate the physicality of the Shamisen or the Koto, while retaining the harmonic potential of the guitar. A major inspiration was the great guitarist and free improviser Derek Bailey. Also, the harmonic language of the early modernist composers – especially Bela Bartok and Anton Webern – were big influences.
