Why I bought my first camera (Storytime)
Why did I buy my first DSLR camera? The year was 2012. I had always had an interest in photography, but I ignored that interest for a long time. One day, as a journalism student at American University, I received the opportunity to report on an event in which First Lady Michelle Obama and Samantha Cameron were visiting the campus. I thought to myself, how can I possibly just go to this event and write about it? I needed a camera. Having the chance of photographing the First Lady is not something that happens every day. So I gathered all of my savings, went to the Best Buy around the corner (in Tenleytown) and purchased my very first DSLR - a Canon Rebel T2i with two kit lenses and began the art of photojournalism.
