Sabah Earth Quake Heroes
The 2015 Sabah earthquake (Malay: Gempa Bumi Sabah 2015) struck Ranau, Sabah, Malaysia with a moment magnitude of 6.0 on 5 June, which lasted for 30 seconds. The earthquake was the strongest to affect Malaysia since 1976. Eighteen people died on Mount Kinabalu, with most of the deaths being members of a group from a Singapore primary school, while about 137 other people who were climbing the mountain were stranded, but were subsequently rescued.
