How to Create a Secure Virtual Office
What is a virtual office? It can be a shared, physical space that provides meeting grounds (and even a mailing address) for companies that work remotely and therefore don't require a permanent business campus. It can also be an entirely virtual space — completely free of physical walls, desks and conference rooms — powered by cloud technology. This Cybersecurity Awareness Month webinar shows you the importance of securing your data when connecting to any type of online or shared network. Daryl Sirota, Director of Technical Services at EstesGroup, walks you through the virtual office space, discussing productivity, safety and accountability in cloud-enabled work environments. He describes public, private, and hybrid cloud infrastructure and gives cybersecurity recommendations throughout his presentation: - Protect data with more than a password and username (deploy multi-factor authentication). - Separate personal and work devices. - Create strong policies to protect "work from home" employees. - Deploy cloud solutions to increase control. - Patch firewalls and software. - Incorporate advanced cybersecurity — like geo-fencing and SD-WAN/VPN solutions. - Move away from server-centric management. This presentation was in support of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM). EstesGroup is a 2020 Champion for NCSAM, an annual cybersecurity awareness initiative organized by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA): https://staysafeonline.org https://www.cisa.gov/national-cyber-security-awareness-month If You Connect It, Protect It: #BeCyberSmart Learn more about cybersecurity here: https://www.estesgrp.com/solutions/managed-it-solutions/cyber-security/ Learn about MSP and ERP solutions here: https://www.estesgrp.com
