ARTA TARGETS 10-MINUTE GOVERNMENT TRANSACTIONS
ARTA TARGETS 10-MINUTE GOVERNMENT TRANSACTIONS QUEZON CITY -- The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) is targeting to trim down to 10 minutes the government transactions this year. In a press conference in the University Hotel in UP Diliman, ARTA Director General Secretary Ernesto V. Perez said that they are targeting to harmonize 120 local government units (LGUs) to be fully compliant with the Electronic Business One Stop Shop (eBOSS). Perez noted that President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos, Jr. has ordered ARTA to replace red tape with a red carpet so to speak. The ARTA Chief stressed that without any expense on the part of the government, ARTA has been able to ut up the three digital platforms such as the Anti-Red Tape Information Management System (ARTEMIS), Philippine Business Regulation Information Service (PBRIS) and the Philippine Business Databank. Perez said that the 10-minute target is only for the LGUs to release the business permit through the eBOSS. He added that they are now coordinating with the Department of Energy in connection with the so-called "Green Energy". Perez noted that the recent LGU awarded as fully compliant with the eBOSS was Mandaluyong City just last February 5. ARTA Deputy Director General Undersecretary Gerald Divinagracia said that the media is their partners for change. It was highlighted that Executive Order 32 was issued by President Marcos in September 2023 streamlining the permitting process for the construction of telecommunications and internet infrastructure. Divinagracia cited the important role and unwavering support of media in disseminating to the public the programs and projects of the government with the enforcement of Republic Act 11032 or the "Ease of Doing Business Act of 2018". | BM and JTR
