How can we eradicate cervical cancer? 1. HPV 16 and 18 vaccination 2. Use of condoms 3. Cervical screening assessing cervical cell cytology (Pap smear) or via testing for the presence of high risk HPV 16 and 18. Women screening positive should be referred for colposcopy and offer local treatment -removal of the affected Transformation Zone via Laser evaporation of a LLETZ/LEEP procedure of cold knife cone excision.
