According to data from the U.S.-based Health Effects Institute, Korea's average annual exposure to ultra-fine dust -- or P-M-two-point-five -- worsened from 26 micrograms per cubic meter in 1990 to 29 micrograms in 2015. The OECD average dropped from 17 micrograms 15 over the same period. Korea used have the seventh-worst dust levels among OECD member nations, but is now second only to Turkey. The data showed the nation's rising ozone concentration levels are also alarming, with the country rising to the fourth worst in the OECD.
