Clogged carb Onan 5.5K Generator!
I was having trouble with a brand new Onan generator that is installed in a 2022 Eclipse Attitude 3322 fifth wheel. It shut off on me during PDI at .7 hours of operation. I had the service code flashing 3 times. I pushed the off button to get the trouble code, which was code 36, generator shut down without command. I had a Genesis Vortex 5.5k gen do the same thing a few weeks back and I immediately knew what the problem was. I removed the carb and cleaned it out. Problem solved? No, it shut down again at 1.2 hours. this time, I cleaned out the carb while it was still installed. I also primed the pump for a minute to blow out anymore of the gasket maker that is causing the float to get clogged. Hopefully this video helps people save time and money. Happy Camping!
