After getting his Masters in Education and Counseling, he worked as a high school and college teacher, counselor, park ranger, editor, firefighter/medic, musician, railroad brakeman and historian as well. He has written numerous travel articles, humor books, short stories, mysteries, and a book of short essays and cartoons. He makes his home in the mountains of Arizona.
