Path of Exile - Talisman Softcore - Poison Proliferation Trapper
A quick overview of my build's setup, with some map gameplay thrown in for good measure. Bonus RIP at 9 minutes because I got greedy and didn't WB in time. I was working on a Bino ED/Contagion build but when ED's bugged interaction with poison support was fixed, the build pretty much died. I still wanted to use Bino for something, so I theorycrafted a build that could inflict enough single-target physical damage to give poison a massive base damage to work with. Ended up with trapped bladefall and bear trap, with a tree that piles on the damage and gem setups that are nothing but damage multipliers. It worked well, but suffered from poison proliferation issues due to the traps not triggering Bino's effects if a monster died to the trap's physical damage and not my poison DoT. However some people in the community discovered a way to bypass this issue thanks to a unique called Southbound. With it, your hits (traps) can only kill frozen enemies - so the poison DoT we inflict is the damage that kills, so Bino's effect triggers and poison proliferates. Many thanks to theshadedone and pohx for their info posted about Southbound and it's interaction with this build. I leveled using Blade Vortex and Bladefall, picking up the nearby phys nodes, stretching down to ranger to pick up the EV/Life, then heading out to the scion life wheel. Bladefall + Concentrated Effect + Echo is a mighty fine 3-link to level with. Clear speed is generally very fast all the way up to T14, though sometimes you won't quite kill the whole pack and have to deal with stragglers. It is very heavy on unique items though, so your jewellery will have to carry a lot of the weight in terms of defenses. It is relatively cheap, with Bino being the most expensive core item at ~1.5ex, while Southbound can be had for a chaos. Those are the two essential items, everything else can be added in after you get those two pieces; Alpha's Howl is used to buff Grace and Vaal Grace and give us more unreserved mana to work with, Jaws of Agony is a convenient 4-Link with good damage and life, Atziri's Step and Queen of The Forest are solid defensive items that synergize well with the build and Ming's Heart is a big damage boost.
