Asus ThunderboltEX II Thunderbolt Expansion Card Review
As my little Zotac ZBox mini PC can't drive my ultrawide 3440x1440 monitor at refresh rates any higher than 50Hz due to the limitation of it's HDMI 1.4 output port, I had to connect it via it's DisplayPort output to get the 69Hz I wanted. This left my big Windows PC, Lernaean Hydra, with the choice of using one of the HDMI inputs, or finding a way to use the only other input on the monitor: Thunderbolt. I added the Asus ThunderboltEX II expansion card to my Asus Sabertooth X99 motherboard and voila, 60Hz refresh rates for the PC as well.
