PoE 3.16 - LL Bane Occultist - A9 Showcase - (PoB, guide, gearing in DESCRIPTION)

PoB: https://pastebin.com/tQ4kKcs5 Bane Occultist is a unique-feeling build with a smoother take on dot builds. You have to press less buttons than TR/SA and ED/Cont, but it is also more dependant on strong gear to scale bane. The build is very one-dimensional for mapping and bossing, so if you like to have smooth gameplay without worrying about buttons, Bane is a good dot build. That being said, I found that I could not scale more damage without heavy investment and the tankiness with 7.2kes was still leaving much to be desired. Elemental damage would be the bigger issue as we run determination. The bossing is mediocre, but the clear is quite good due to occultist pop. Overall defensives mapping are good as we curse with temporal chains, and punishment could even be replaced with enfeeble if need be for more defense. Auras are a big part of this iteration of bane, and I had fun playing around with it but it is time for me to begin the zlife, big dps builds. Gearing: Weapon Main Hand: +2 wand (spell, chaos) w/ chaos dmg over time multi + spell damage - since bane scales off spell damage along with blight, you get pretty far with this and gem levels. Shield: Prism Guardian w/ determination implicit - we are low life, so this is our source of life reservation, and we want the determination to bypass the attribute requirement as well as give us a bit more tankiness. Helmet: Crown of the inward eye w/ bane dmg enchant - this is flexible, but the overall power from this helm is really nice, and we get additional damage from ToS Body Armour: 6L Shavs w/ +2 AoE - scale our bane up with a shavs, and of course, since we are low life we will need one. Gloves: Rare fingerless silk gloves w/chaos dot multi and ES - big thing here is the ES and damage scaling options, and hunter gloves will be your best bet. Boots: The Stampede (growth and decay annoint) - This is somewhat up for debate - you can get faster without these, but the qol for mitigating temp chains, slows, etc is pretty nice. Also, you get CDR which is good for flame dash and proccing arcane surge constantly. The extra annoint is the added bonus as well as the cheaper cost compared to good ES boots. Amulet: Pressence of Chayula (annoint hunter's gambit) - stock standard low life amulet - we get tons of ES and chaos res, which is nice since we cap the latter. Rings: Iolite rings w/chaos damage - these are flexible and more than anything just there to cap res/ increase ES, and give you space for non-channeling mana cost. Belt: Crystal belt w/ tons of ES and base armour - you can probably fit aspect of the spider here best, but otherwise you want defensive stats here. Flasks: Bottled Faith (or sulphur) / Quartz Flask / Enduring mana flask / Basalt Flask / Rumi's concoction - we use two flasks for pure armour scaling and one for SS. We can't use quicksilver because of the stampede boots. Unique Jewels: Malevolence watcher's eye (i had discipline recharge too) Cluster Jewels: 2 large, 4 medium - these will not cost you over 3-4ex Jewels: double dot multi and ES - around 1-2ex a pop Playstyle: Setup/Bossing - Wither Totem - Vaal RF - Flame Dash - Bane - Vaal Blight, then blight channel if you can or just kite - *note: if you pop vaal RF too late and have no time to recharge, some bosses will just one tap you, so make sure to pop it sooner.
