Q'ESWACHAKA, THE LAST INCA HANGING BRIDGE During Inca times, there was a vast network of trails called Qhapac Ñan, a great masterpiece of Inca engineering and organization that ran over 30,000 km of ancient trails. These connected the present-day countries of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina, covering a large part of the Andes with their rugged and impressive Andean geography. Garcilaso de la Vega stated that some ethnic groups of the Contisuyo region voluntarily submitted to the Incas after seeing the majesty of these bridges.
